Rotate an image by 90°, 180°, or 270°, or flip it horizontally and vertically.
Make image orientation corrections and create a transformed copy directly in your browser.
An image rotator changes the orientation of a picture without requiring image-editing software. You can rotate an image to the left or right, turn it upside down with a 180-degree rotation, or flip it across a horizontal or vertical axis.
This can be useful when a photograph was captured in the wrong orientation or when you need a mirrored version of an image for a particular design or presentation.
Rotation and flipping produce different transformations.
If a person in a photograph is facing left and you want the person to face right, use Flip Horizontal rather than rotating the photograph.
Consider an image that is 1600 × 900 pixels. After a 90-degree rotation, its canvas becomes 900 × 1600 pixels. The image has not been stretched; its width and height have simply exchanged positions.
A 180-degree rotation does not exchange the dimensions. A 1600 × 900 image remains 1600 × 900 after a 180-degree rotation.
| Format | Recommended For | Transparency |
|---|---|---|
| JPG | Photographs and images where small file size is important | No |
| PNG | Logos, screenshots, illustrations and images requiring lossless output | Yes |
| WebP | Modern websites and web applications | Yes |
When JPG or WebP is selected, the quality control determines how strongly the image encoder prioritizes smaller file size versus visual detail.
A higher quality setting generally preserves more detail but may produce a larger file. A lower setting can produce a smaller file but may introduce visible compression artifacts.
PNG works differently because its encoding is primarily lossless. Therefore, changing the quality slider does not have the same effect on PNG as it does on JPG or WebP.
Horizontal flipping is useful when you want a mirror version of an image. For example, a photograph of a person looking toward the right can be flipped so that the person appears to look toward the left.
Be careful with images containing text, logos, signs, numbers or directional information. A horizontal flip will also reverse those elements.
Flipping an image horizontally reverses text and other directional elements. If you are correcting a photograph containing a sign or document, check the result carefully before using it.
The image transformation performed by this tool takes place inside your web browser. Your selected image does not need to be uploaded to a Resouria server for rotation, flipping or output generation.
This approach can be useful when working with private photographs, screenshots, business graphics or other images that you prefer to process locally.
Your browser still temporarily holds the selected image and generated image in memory while the page is being used. Avoid using shared or public computers for sensitive material unless you trust the device.
The rotation itself does not inherently require a loss of image detail. However, the transformed image is recreated in the selected output format. JPG and WebP use quality-based encoding, so the selected quality can affect the final result.
A 90° or 270° rotation exchanges the width and height. A 180° rotation keeps the same width and height.
It creates a mirror image from left to right. Text, people, objects and other directional elements will also be reversed.
It mirrors the image from top to bottom. This is different from rotating an image by 180 degrees.
Yes. You can apply multiple transformations before clicking Apply Changes. The current preview reflects the selected rotation and flip settings.
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are rendered against a white background.
No. Image processing is performed locally in your browser. The selected image does not need to be uploaded to the Resouria server.
Yes. JPG, PNG and WebP files can all be used in websites, subject to the requirements of the website or application where the image will be used.
Choose the transformation based on the problem you are trying to solve. Use rotation to correct orientation and flipping to create a mirror image. After applying the change, always inspect the preview—especially when the image contains text, logos or directional information.
